Everyone loves a summer fayre -sun, music, children laughing and contact with nature are all marvellous. But probably the most important things are sharing time together and raising money for a good cause. In total, St. Augustine’s, in Addlestone, raised £1,300 for our residents’ entertainments and outings.
Many thanks to Friends of St. Augustine’s for their support because they were in charge of the organisation and made the day fun and enjoyable. The weather was absolutely beautiful, and the garden looked fantastic, full of colourful -the perfect scenario to listen to music and chill.
Everyone seemed having lunch or sitting on the grass under the shade of a tree and chatting. Some people were looking around for stuff to buy and everyone was delighted with the background ukulele music.
Visitors enjoyed the different stalls, trying their luck on the raffle and the children had fun in the bouncy castle. And we must not forget the delicious meal, on an ideal day for a barbeque!
On the other hand, Sisters Hospitallers home in Shenstone, Chris the King, had their own fayre too. This year, our annual fete was once again a huge success even though the weather did let us down.
We still managed to raise a very nice £3518, which is really quite something! The weather didn’t dampen anyone’s spirit either and the fete was buzzing as always with its variety of stalls, awesome music and the barbeque -delicious as always, all of which was just lovely to see and be a part of.
We give our sincere thanks and a huge round of applause to Friends of Footherley for all their hard work and effort for making our Summer Fete the success it was.
