Breast Cancer Awareness Month

We Are Like You

19 of October marked as a World Day of the Fight Against Breast Cancer. We want to emphasize the importance of having access timely, effective controls, diagnoses and treatments. Early detection is vital in order to improve the prognosis and survival of breast cancer. Although it is more common in women, breast cancer can also affect men.

Sisters Hospitallers in Liberia has planned an awareness campaign, and they have invited all the patients for a free screening at the end of the month.

St. Benedict Menni Health Centre, in Monrovia, in collaboration with the Step-Down Mental Rehabilitation Unit, is launching its maiden awareness program for clients of both facilities. This is to help create an awareness of both facilities through breast examination and health education. We are inviting all clients for a free screening scheduled on the 31st of October 2019 at the premises of the Step-Down Mental Rehabilitation Unit.

World Health Organization established October as Breast Cancer Awareness month, an annual campaign to increase awareness of the disease and raise support for the awareness, early detection and treatment as well as palliative care of this disease.
