James Dorbor Jallah, accompanied by Benedict Dossen, Lead for The Carter Centre Mental Health Program, delivered equipment to Benedict Menni Mental Health Center, Sisters Hospitallers centre in Liberia, enhancing the collaboration between the two institutions.
Three sewing machines, sewing material and lappas (typical African cloth to make skirts) for creating clothes, office supplies and a printer were the items donated.
The representatives of the Carter Center visited the facilities and learned about the services we provide in the rehabilitation of women with mental illness, being pleasantly impressed by their quality. They also showed concern about the needs of the centre and promised to continue their help and advocate encouragement of our mission.
The patients wanted to thank the Carter Center representatives for their contribution and offered a short performance where they sang a version of “Wish you were here.”
We at Sisters Hospitallers, want to express our gratitude for this donation by the Carter Center in Liberia, and especially to the people who lead the organization.
