Christmas Fayre at St. Augustine’s Home

On 19 November St. Augustine’s Christmas Fayre raised £956. Craft Stalls displayed items made by the residents and Sr Patricia Wright once again produced her wonderful Christmas specials – Owls this year!

So many kind people donated cakes and prizes for the Tombolas and the raffle, including Argos at Walton, who donated toys; Tesco; The Castle Inn at Ottershaw; and The Thai Yum Yum Restaurant in Addlestone, who donated gift vouchers.

Residents had a great time looking around, and some of them even won the Tombola! They also enjoyed Lizzie Wayland and Paul Bunclark from the Beacon Church, Chertsey, who came and sang carols. Father Christmas also put in an appearance.

This is very different from last year, there are a lot of prizes, I even won this toy!

The money raised will be used for the benefit of our dear residents, in providing them with opportunities to go on outings, to receive visiting entertainers and to provide interesting activities and equipment to enrich their lives.

It was lovely to see the residents singing along and enjoying themselves.

This would not have been possible without the support of the Sisters and the many ‘Friends’ and volunteers who came along and gave freely of their time to help with stalls.
