On the 6th October, four residents, Sr Bernardina, Sr Cecilia and Anita, the Activities Coordinator, attended a lovely concert at St Paul’s Church. The concert was part of the regular events for elderly people, their families and friends, organised every other month by volunteers led by Fiona Costa, doctor of Music.
They had a wonderful performance given by Yoki Ito (Cello) Daniel King-Smith (Piano) and James Lill (Piano), all graduates from the Royal College of Music. The programme included pieces by Bach –Cello Suite N1, Beethoven –Sonata Ops 5, and Frank Bridge –Mélodie for Cello and Piano.
“The music was hauntingly beautiful and captivated everyone. And the musicians were greatly applauded at the end of their performance.” Anita
Homemade tea and cakes followed the concert and were served by a fantastic team of volunteers. Our residents said they had enjoyed the concert very much and they are looking forward to attending the next one in December.
