Find out how Footherley Hall spent the Summer!

Annual Summer Fete

Footherley Hall’s fabulous Summer Fete was once again a huge success with an excellent turn out and weather to match.  This was their biggest fund raiser and this year was no exception with a staggering £4,150.53 raised.

This all goes with tremendous thanks to Friends of Footherley who work very hard to make sure the Summer Fete is the success it is.

Footherley Mini Olympics

They honoured the Olympics by having their own with residents and staff joining in.  Their ‘Games’ included: Target Tops, Hook-a-duck, egg and spoon races, hula and crazy golf.

The winners won a ‘medal’ and the runners-up got a ’cup’ and these were all presented at supper time.

A Visit from Dillon the Donkey

Christ the King’s Home received a very remarkable visit this summer. Dillon the Donkey spent some time with the residents in the main lounge, which caused great interest.

It went done so well with the residents, who delighted in seeing this well-groomed, gorgeous donkey who came from the local donkey sanctuary.

A visit from the Ice Cream Van

This visit was smashing and went down so well with our residents, Sisters and staff who all really enjoyed this very nice ‘moment’ on a very sunny day in August.’

Fish & Chip Supper

The residents received a very nice delivery from the local chip shop and went on to have a very tasty supper. This was followed by a DVD and everyone enjoying the traditional ice cream half way through!

Black Country Museum

A few of Shenstone residents went back down memory lane for the day when they visited the Museum which has a replica 1940’s ‘village’ and memorabilia to match.  And, again this was very much enjoyed by all who went along.

Pamper Sessions

This August saw the launch of pamper sessions which offer a hand and face massage with tranquil music setting the scene perfectly.  This has gone down so well it will now take place each month.

A number of residents have visited the local cinema to see the latest blockbuster movies with refreshments thrown in. To include films ‘Dad’s Army’ and ‘Eddie the Eagle’ both of which were thoroughly enjoyed.
