The mission of Sisters Hospitallers in the Sekondi-Takoradi district in Ghana has come to an end. The sisters left the community on the 31st of January after 17 years of presence and will be joining the communities at Dompoase, Foso and Monrovia.
Sister Begoña, Provincial Superior, explained that “this is part of the reorganisation process the Congregation is undergoing at the moment. It was not an easy decision, but we want to reinforce other communities and our commitment to the Vocation Ministry. At the same time, we are trying to give a better quality response to our Hospitaller mission. The centre isn´t closing. It will continue to give service to the district population under the direction of the diocese, where it belongs. I would like to express my most sincere gratitude to the sisters of the community, who have improved the services offered at the centre and its management during all these years”.
