Despite the circumstances, we do our best at St Augustine’s to keep our residents busy and continue having a routine. Part of their daily lives is keeping them mentally and physically active.
Bowling or darts were some of the games our residents chose this month, and because of the sunny weather some of the games were played outdoors. While some played others cheered them on – the lovely atmosphere was beyond words!
Playing games is a brilliant way to be active while having fun and also helps with coordination and concentration while improving skills and marksmanship. Not only that, but playing games can strengthen muscles, joints and bones, and increase mobility which, in turn, prevents falls.
Games also help to socialise and avoid loneliness and produce more confidence and independence.
