On the 27th August residents, staff and sisters had a lovely trip to the sea. Seven residents, three members of the staff and two sisters enjoyed a beautiful day and weather in Southend-on-Sea.
The family of one of the residents, Ann Muller Key, joined the trip. Her two daughters, sons-in-law and two joyous little granddaughters brought more joy to the positive spirit of the day.
After leaving home early on Saturday morning, they were lucky to avoid traffic and to reach the seaside by midday, just in time for lunch. A rich picnic prepared by the kitchen staff at St Teresa was shared in a colourful garden by the sea, and for dessert they were treated to strawberries and ice cream by Sister Isabel.
In the afternoon all of them took a walk by the sea, enjoying the splendid sunshine and also walked down the Southend Pier, which is the longest pleasure pier in the world.
At the end of the day, everyone mentioned they had a happy time and greatly appreciated being able to enjoy sunny moments by the sea.
