We believe that older people should be able to live with in dignity and comfort, and with as much independence as possible for as long as possible.
That is why — in each of our three UK care homes, and in our work with older people across the world — we place such an emphasis on getting to know each of our patients personally and finding out all we can about their needs, tastes and preferences. In keeping with the spirit of our founder, Benedict Menni, the care we provide is personalised and respectful.
- We encourage the residents in our care homes to bring personal items with them, and to display them in their rooms. This makes each room feel like home.
- Our residents enjoy a rich variety of activities and excursions. We work to build a strong sense of community in each of our homes. The air is always full of talk, and there is always something to do.
- All our work is supported by a wider network of staff, ranging from opticians and dentists to chiropodists and hairdressers.
When we speak to our residents, or to their families, they almost always talk about what a difference it makes to be treated as a person rather than a patient. The golden years should be a time to flourish, not fade, and that is what we see in so many of the people in our care.
This is a wonderful place for me to be. I feel like I’m at home, except it’s better because I’m surrounded by new friends and staff who really care about me.
