Because being in lockdown doesn’t mean we can’t have fun. Sisters Hospitallers care home in Shenstone are doing their best to fill the days with colour and music. We welcomed Bekka G back who as always was fabulous! We also had two new singers joining us and our residents had a wonderful time, singing along to all the classics. Linda Mac brought along her dog too and our residents made such a fuss of her!
Singer Lynn Street brought props for our residents….cowboy hats, bunny ears, tambourines and garlands to complete and everyone so loved dressing up which just added to the atmosphere making this a superb afternoon thoroughly enjoyed by everyone.
Cheese and Wine Afternoon – this was really popular and our residents really enjoyed trying different types of cheese from around the world and the wine went down well too! And, our new card game aptly named ‘Play your Cards Right’ is proving to be a real hit with our residents as well.
A warm welcome to Jayne Maund who started with us on March as a Senior Care Assistant and we hope Jayne will be happy and enjoy working with us all at Footherley.
Our Care Assistant Alex Mayo celebrated her 21st Birthday on 12th March and we presented Alex with a card, flowers and a gift from us all. With many congratulations to Alex on this, her first ‘milestone’ Birthday!
Crafts & walks
We may not be having any outside entertainment or outings at the moment but our Activities Coordinators Toni, Sue and Steve are more than making up for it by stepping up our day to day activities with chair exercises and bingo.
As the weather is improving and the days are getting longer walks around the garden are starting and art and crafts are at full throttler.
