Sisters Hospitallers in Liberia welcomed two Medical Neurologist Practitioners from Boston Medical School in the United States. These young doctors came to see patients who are suffering from neurological conditions. Patients were assessed and provided with appropriate services.
We also welcomed some visitors from the Men’s organization of the St. Joseph Catholic parish, who presented the unit with items as an expression of love and support to the patients. They were led by Mr Rex M. Guarduard who donated bags of rice, cooking oil, vegetables, stationery and toiletries to help and support the residents of the unit. They were hosted by Sisters and Staff, who appreciated the gesture and expressed thanks to them for their thought.
The Step-Down Unit staff adopt a culture of holding general staff meetings on every last Monday of the month. During the January session, we discussed different ways of improving our services, staff motivation, strengths and weaknesses, as well as challenges the institution is facing. The issue of understaffing was paramount and we plan to add at least two nurses and two aides.
Many thanks to our benefactors and all auxiliary supporters who through thick and thin have ensured the smooth functioning of the unit.
