Thank you for the music!

In Sisters Hospitallers care homes, the visitors are not allowed because of COVID-19, as well as most of our activities have been cancelled. Last month, Christ the King care home had a busy schedule where the music was the main attraction.

We had some great entertainment from singer Rob Burton and his accordion! He got all the residents clapping and singing along with lots of laughter and dancing too!

We also enjoyed cheerleader chair exercise which turned into an impromptu Abba disco, unleashing the residents dancing queen! Sr Clotilde joined us shaking her pom-poms too!

We gave a warm welcome back to Alison Moss with ‘Name that Tune’ which has always gone down so well.

Manicure Monday is a huge hit with the residents, a time for a chat and a bit of pampering which they love.

Cinema club gives the residents ‘time out’ to watch a film with no distractions and popcorn makes it a real cinema experience.

A Visit from the Ponies

On 12th February Tinkerbell and Lollipop rode into town! The two ponies bought a big smile to all our residents’ faces and our staff too for that matter!  We all loved the interaction, stroking them and a few even gave these adorable ponies carrots!

It is quite amazing to see ponies in our residents’ lounge and the joy they give is worth so much.  Many thanks to Lollipop Ponies for bringing them along once again.

And to keep the theme going during the afternoon our residents played ‘Pin the Tail on the Donkey’ which was great fun and so enjoyed by all who took part.

Don’t miss our next newsletter to see how much fun we had!
